  • KALE FRANZ | PRINCIPAL ENGINEER AT ANACONDA 

    Kale Franz joined Anaconda in 2016 as the lead developer for the Conda project. Over the years, Kale has transitioned among multiple areas of the company, including the enterprise platform team as well as product management. Currently, he is again contributing as a Principal Engineer on the Anaconda Distribution and Conda team. Kale received an undergraduate degree in physics from the Colorado School of Mines and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Princeton University. He is a domain expert in the field of quantum cascade lasers, and made infrared semiconductor lasers for the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory immediately after graduate school. Before joining Anaconda to lead Conda development, Kale was a backend developer and DevOps tech lead at 23andMe.
